Friday at bluedot 2019 was an epic exploration with stellar sets from Hot Chip, Kate Tempest, Jon Hopkins, intriguing Moon Landing DotTalks with James Burke, Helen Sharman and Dallas Campbell alongside roaming cosmic creatures from distant galaxies.

We celebrate 50 years to the day since the Moon Landing at bluedot 2019. We’ve invited telescope projection mapping artists Illuminos to join us with a very special projection piece on the Lovell Telescope to commemorate one of the most important moments in human space exploration.

Everything James Lavelle has created and initiated has been driven by the same irrepressible sense of curiosity and an incorruptible willingness to take risks. Indie trio Alt-J closed bluedot 2017 with an astounding headline set, combining their unique signature sound with multiple genres. An unforgettable performance accompanied by an out of this world light show beneath the Lovell Telescope.

John Grant laced sumptuous soft-rock ballads with an array of spacey, wistful synthesizer sounds, increasingly adding taut, fizzing sequencers, nu-synth-disco settings and icy soundscapes to the mix on his 2013 album ‘Pale Green Ghosts’.
